There’s nothing more annoying than getting a UTI(Urinary Tract Infection), especially for women. Some women get UTI’s every time they have sex and are on and off Cipro(Ciprofloxacin)or other Fluoroquinolones every month. The main problem with being on Cipro or anti-biotics is they’re not guaranteed to work, and they can cause harmful side effects, some of which can be permanent.
Potential Cipro Side-effects
- tendon rupture
- peripheral neuropathy – Weakness, numbness, nerve damage usually in the hands and feet
- negatively affect central nervous system
- exacerbation of myasthenia gravis – A weakness and rapid fatigue of muscles under voluntary control
- severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats
- sudden pain, snapping or popping sound, bruising, swelling, tenderness, stiffness, or loss of movement in any of your joints
- diarrhea that is watery or bloody
- confusion, hallucinations, depression
What’s nutty about this is that tendinitis and tendon rupture can plague you within hours or days of starting Cipro, or as long as several months after usage.
A couple of years ago I was afflicted with a UTI, I have no idea how I got a it, but the frequent urination and the burning sensations in my bladder put quite a fear in me. At the time I knew nothing about wild harvested oil or oregano, which is another option which would have put this UTI to rest. The only option I had was to go to urgent care and get a prescription for Cipro. But the problem with that was I had no intention of playing Russian roulette with Cipros side-effects.
I told a naturopath friend of mine of my problem and she told me about D-mannose. She said she once had a terrible UTI and that this product basically healed her within a couple of days and saved her life.
After doing a little research I found out that E. coli bacteria causes about 90% of UTIs. Once these bacteria enter the urinary tract they latch on to cells, proliferate, and cause infection. Researchers believe that D-mannose works by attaching to E. coli bacteria, causing them to stick to each other and preventing them from sticking to the walls of the urinary tract. Then the bacteria can easily be eliminated from the body during urination.
So I bought the Now brand of D-mannose in powder form, and I took 1 teaspoon 3 times a day. By the end of the first day my symptoms had subsided greatly, and on the third day I was healed.
I also had a friend who developed a terrible UTI that she caught while vacationing in Cuba. She was plagued by the UTI for months and it wouldn’t go away no matter which type of Fluoroquinolone she tried. I told her about D-Mannose, and she bought it immediately, but I’m not sure which brand she bought. She only used it for a few days when her UTI disappeared, and this time it never returned.
If you are going to try D-mannose, make sure that the product you purchase is GMO-Free.
