The acidity of your blood is measured by determining its pH value. According to the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) the pH of your blood should be around 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. The condition of Acidosis is characterized by a pH of 7.35 or lower and Alkalosis is characterized by a pH level of 7.45 or higher. While seemingly slight, these numerical differences can be detrimental to one’s health.
What is Acidosis?
Acidosis is the over-acidification of the body’s cells, this condition can interrupt cellular activities and functions. It’s the root of many ailments and diseases. The body’s cells constantly being exposed to an acidic environment can lead to chronic acidosis which can then lead to dreadful diseases such as cancer.

What Causes Acidosis?
Conditions like diabetes, kidney failure can contribute to body acidosis, but in reality, it boils down to diet. The typical western diet of nutritionally deficient processed foods, smoking and alcohol abuse are some of the main causes of excessive acid in the body.
OK so let’s talk solutions, there are many simple routes you can take to remedy excess body acidity, and no you don’t need to go vegan or gluten-free or follow the nutty torturous alkaline diet. All you need to do is one of these three:
