The dangers of Big Pharma & PE Firms buying out Natural Supplement Companies

by Sean Martu

Have you ever wondered why the electrified street cars and trolleys are only in certain cities in America? Also why the Public Transportation infrastructure in America such as the NYC subway system is 100 years old with little to no expansion and upgrades?

Look no further than General Motors, Standard Oil, Firestone Tire & Rubber, Phillips Petroleum, and Mack Truck Manufacturing Co. led by Henry Ford, who bought out the street car industry just to shut it down. Ultimately forcing Americans to buy and drive gas-guzzling oil-consuming cars.

We are at a similar crossroads today, although much more dangerous. Approximately 14 mega-corporations such as Pharmaceutical Pfizer are buying out many of the health/nutrition supplement companies we have come to love.

Look at the graph above, and tell me if you do not find this terrifying for the natural, nutrition, and alternative health community.

If the above graph doesn’t scare the pants off of you read this. According to Reportlinker.com report “Uterine Fibroids Treatment Global Market Report 2023” -The uterine fibroid “treatment industry” The global uterine fibroids treatment market is expected to grow from $3.33 billion in 2022 to $3.67 billion in 2023 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.4%. As of note, “Major players in the uterine fibroids treatment market are Gynesonics Inc., Medtronic Plc., Boston Scientific Corporation, Karl Storz Gmbh, Pfizer Inc., Abbvie Inc., Richard Wolf GmbH, CooperSurgical Inc.”

This is significant because in 2017 the company Solaray was bought out by the HGGC a leading middle-market private equity firm. Solaray produced a supplement called Breastgard, this supplement is what I used to recommend to women to quickly shrink Uterine fibroids.

Coincidently, not long after the acquisition by HGGC, Breastgard was mysteriously discontinued.

Now I have no idea why Breastgard was discontinued, especially being a product that worked so well to naturally and quickly shrink fibroids. But I ask this question, how much money has Big Pharma lost and would lose once women around the world realize they can avert fibroid surgery using a product that costs $10? As a private equity firm with over $7 billion of cumulative capital commitments, is a $10 fibroid fix in a nearly $4 billion industry benefit HGGC.

I think not.

So let’s look at the list, but first, what does it mean when a corporation acquires another company?

“An acquisition is when one company purchases a majority of another company’s shares to gain control of that company. Purchasing more than 50% of a target firm’s stock and other assets allows the acquirer to make decisions about the newly acquired assets without the approval of the company’s shareholders”⁣⁣⁣

How does this affect me?⁣⁣⁣

Knowing what kind of company now has control of another, helps to better inform us when choosing which brands to buy. Brand research is very important when determining if a brand is cutting corners, or sourcing toxic, inferior, or clean ingredients.

Observing if Pharmaceutical or Private Equity firms own the brand, informs you of what the company’s priorities are, ”
Profits Profits Profits”, thereby elucidating which brand to trust.

Typically when corporations take over, ingredient sourcing can often change because they have access to more suppliers which could be good but typically bad. It makes more financial sense for acquiring corporations to use their own manufacturing, vendors, and suppliers. This could potentially degrade the quality and purity of the product depending on what regulations they are being diligent to follow.

The likelihood hood of seeing “natural flavors” on ingredient labels becomes more apparent.⁣ It’s also likely for formulas to change to save money.

OK, so let’s see the list.

Would be interesting to post the brands that have not (yet) been bought out by the big companies so we can focus on them?

Scary indeed!
Monopolizing, not only for profit but also control. These corporations are all in bed with our government. Our government is not what we “think” it is, it is also a corporation.
Do your research people. This could be very risky for our health.
Thank you for the post Sean!
